Oskar Kirsten is a research and development engineer who collects exotic pieces of wood, a practice that started during his research trips with Scripps Institution of Oceanography, located in La Jolla, California. Some years ago, he put one of these pieces on an old lathe and discovered the world of woodturning. Currently, he prefers beautiful domestic woods that are unendangered and plentiful. Carob, Olive, and Black Acacia are those he particularly likes to work. Oskar can usually be found at any place where a chainsaw is heard.
